01 · Why fiber optics?

Guaranteed connectivity that cannot be jammed

Commands, Full HD video and telemetry travel over a physical link. Radio jamming does not affect the optical segment, while the critical link's lack of radio emissions reduces the risk of direction finding.

The planner builds a waypoint route or sets a final destination, displaying a dynamic direction arrow to the next waypoint on the pilot's screen.

Does Spiderweb rely on radio frequencies?+

No. The primary link (control, Full HD video and telemetry) is carried exclusively over optical fiber, so it cannot be radio-jammed and produces no radio emissions of its own. A radio signature is possible only if additional customer modules are installed, such as GPS or a backup radio link.

What are the maximum range and latency?+

Range is up to 40 km of optical link, depending on the spool type and selected SFP modules. Video and control-command latency is minimal (down to 0 ms) and remains unchanged regardless of the length of fiber deployed.

How many UAVs does the system support?+

Up to 9 UAVs simultaneously from a single workstation in the base configuration. The network architecture allows the number of aircraft to scale to the unit's requirements.

Is a UAV included in the package?+

No. Spiderweb is a hardware and software communications and control system. We supply onboard modules, ground stations, controllers and software for installation on your drones, or provide licenses to UAV manufacturers.

Does waypoint flight work as an autopilot?+

No. The system provides navigation cues and a dynamic heading indicator along a waypoint route, but direct piloting and decision-making remain entirely with the operator.

Can I upgrade from Spiderweb 1.0 to 2.0?+

Yes, an upgrade is possible. We audit your existing Spiderweb 1.0 infrastructure and provide a migration plan covering software updates and the replacement or reflashing of communication modules.

Can the module be integrated into an existing UAV?+

Yes. The onboard communication module is designed for straightforward drop-in installation. We provide mounting adapters for different frames, ready-made cable assemblies and wiring diagrams for most popular flight controllers.

Which sensors can be connected to the onboard module?+

Standard support includes digital Full HD daylight cameras, thermal imagers, forward-facing night-vision sensors and laser rangefinders / LiDAR. Integration of specialized payloads is agreed during package configuration.
